What is Hotel Zoe in San Francisco like? | Review
We spent three days in San Francisco and while here, stayed at the Hotel Zoe in Fisherman’s Wharf. This centrally-located hotel was a stone’s throw away from Fisherman’s Wharf, as the name suggests, making it the perfect spot while here in San Fran.
Comfortable rooms
On-site restaurant
Good location
We booked this through Virgin Holidays as part of a package holiday, travelled in March 2025.
Location
If you’re anything like me, you want a hotel in the heart of the action, where a sight can be seen at every turn. Thankfully, this is something Hotel Zoe excelled in. It was close to Fisherman’s Wharf, taking less than five minutes to reach on foot. You’re also a stone’s throw away from the piers (including Pier 39) that sit on San Francisco Bay. Look around and you’ll spot The Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz. You’re also close to lots of popular restaurants and place to grab a bite to eat. IHOP, Hard Rock Cafe and In N Out are all close by. But nothing will be fresh sourdough from Boudin Bakery!
Amenities
Comfortable beds are ready and waiting for you to snuggle up here. But aside from clean rooms and a good location, there are a few amenities we loved. Bike rentals branding the Hotel Zoe logo are available for those staying here. Take advantage of one hour free or extend your rental to fully explore San Fran (sadly no children’s seats are available here so we didn’t get to make use of this benefit, which was a little disappointing as we were travelling with a toddler).
One little extra we did love were the s’mores. Hotel Zoe has a stunning courtyard across the lobby. Here two fire pits surrounded by comfortable seats awaits. Visit reception and grab a s’mores kit (graham cracker, Hersheys chocolate and marshmallows), grab a blanket from the box next to the doors and get comfortable.
Would we stay here again?
Yes! In fact we’ve told family members who are travelling to San Fran to stay here. We loved the location (around the corner from a Trader Joe’s) and how comfortable it was. The room had everything we needed and was very comfortable.
